Top 5 Nintendo Wii games

The Nintendo Wii was a big part of my childhood, and it's one of my favourite Nintendo consoles, so I thought it would be a good idea to write a top 5 favourite games for the Nintendo Wii.

5. Mario Kart Wii

The second best-selling game for the Wii (over 35 million copies sold), and also the first Mario Kart game I ever played. I put so many countless hours into playing this as a child.

Now this isn't my favourite Mario Kart game because of the frustrating issue with MK Wii's tendancy to be unbalanced with items. Item boxes tend to spawn blue shells more frequently than other Mario Kart games, which meant luck played more of a part in races than other MK games. But it's still a lot of fun and has a great variety of tracks. Some of the best tracks, in my opinion, are Koopa Cape, Coconut Mall, and Maple Treeway. Oh, and the music in a lot of tracks is catchy and very good. The battle mode is pretty solid too with some good tracks.

4. Kirby's Epic Yarn

Now yes, this game was so, so, so easy. You can't even die on a level it's that easy. But that doesn't stop it being so much fun. The levels were designed so well, and the abilities Kirby can turn into were great. The music is so good and the boss fights were great. Back in 2011 my brother and I had a lot of fun playing this game together, and I've replayed it a couple of times since then and thought it was still a lot of fun. The other Kirby game on the Wii (Kirby's Adventure Wii) was a lot of fun too, but I liked Epic Yarn a little bit more.

3. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.

Not my favourite Zelda game (Windwaker, TOTK, BOTW take the top 3 spots), but, just like most Zelda games, it's great. The combat is this game was solid and there were some great boss fights and level designs throughout the game. The story was pretty interesting too and a lot of fun to play through. The puzzles were some of the best in the Zelda series too.

2. Wii Sports Resort

Yes the game was simple, but so much fun. It expanded on the original Wii Sports title and took everything good about that game and added more content to the game. The controls were excellent and the graphics looked great. The addition of Wuhu island was a great idea too. I had so much fun in my childhood playing this game with friends and family. It was a great game that even casual gamer, or even non-gamers, could enjoy! My favourite game was always the bowling one, followed by tennis. Even my least favourite sport in the game golf, was still fairly fun to play. The game never felt boring.

1. Mario Galaxy 1 & 2

Since it's hard to pick a favourite out of the two Mario Galaxy games, I've made the top spot on this list a tie. Both Mario Galaxy games have incredible level designs with a variety of tasks on each level to complete. They both have some of the best 3D Mario levels ever. The gameplay is so fun, and the soundtracks in both these games are my favourite video game soundtracks of all-time. I've had so much fun replaying through both games so many times.

So, those are my favourite Nintendo Wii games. There are so many agmes I like for the console, so it wasn't easy to choose. I'll probably make other lists like this for other Nintendo consoles sometime.
